Short answer: For 15 October 2026, Groww’s Delhi board states ₹14,759 per gram for 24K, ₹13,529 per gram for 22K, and ₹11,069 per gram for 18K. Its matching 10-gram rows are ₹1,47,590, ₹1,35,290 and ₹1,10,690. This is a dated retail reference, not a shop’s final invoice or a live exchange quote. The board carries a date but no intraday update time, so this page records the quote time as unavailable. 1

Key takeaways

  • The quoted gold rate today in Delhi is a purity-specific reference. Use the same purity and the same weight before comparing it with a shop quote. 1
  • Delhi in this guide means the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Gurugram and Noida are NCR locations, but they are not treated as Delhi here.
  • The metal reference is only one invoice component. Jewellery pricing can also include workmanship, any separately disclosed non-gold component, and GST on the transaction value. 5
  • For hallmarked jewellery, check the BIS logo, purity/fineness and six-character HUID, then retain the detailed invoice. 2

Delhi here means the National Capital Territory, not the whole NCR

A gold price in Delhi page needs a clear geographic boundary. Here, Delhi means the National Capital Territory of Delhi, matching the named Delhi board used for the dated rates. It does not silently extend the rate to the wider National Capital Region. A shopper may visit stores across the wider urban area, but a quote from a store in Gurugram or Noida is not recast as a Delhi quote on this page.

That distinction matters because the final amount a shopper sees is a retail transaction, not a single national sticker. A seller can use its own day’s metal reference, its own design or labour schedule, and its own invoice presentation. Comparing a Delhi quote with a quote elsewhere can still be useful, but it is only meaningful after the buyer has made the units, purity, product type and charges comparable.

For a broader national reference, see TradeGrows’ India gold-rate page. The commodity-trading overview explains the wider context for commodities, but it should not be used to overwrite a specifically named Delhi board.

What the dated Delhi board quotes—and what it does not

Groww’s page heading reads “Gold Rate Today in Delhi (15 Oct 2026)” and its per-gram table reconciles to its per-10-gram table: ₹14,759 and ₹1,47,590 for 24K; ₹13,529 and ₹1,35,290 for 22K; and ₹11,069 and ₹1,10,690 for 18K. It labels the purities as 99.9%, 91.6% and 75% respectively. That internal reconciliation is why those three positive values are recorded here. 1

The source calls the page “Last updated: 15 Oct 2026,” but it does not publish an hour or minute. “Checked at” and “quote time” therefore mean different things on this page. The source was retrieved at 2026-10-15T10:01:30Z; that tells readers when this editorial check occurred. It does not show when, during 15 October, Groww set the displayed Delhi values. Do not describe these figures as live or intraday.

The source’s own cost illustration places a 3% GST line and estimated additional jewellery charges after a “value before tax” line. It does not explicitly label the headline Delhi per-gram board as tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive. Treat it as a pre-invoice retail reference whose tax basis is not expressly stated. 1

Independent exact-region pages do not agree, so this page does not average them. Policybazaar’s Delhi page is dated 15 October and states ₹14,375 per gram for 24K and ₹13,690 for 22K, excluding GST and making charges, but gives no 18K figure; it identifies its rate source as Rapid API. 9 Candere’s named New Delhi page was one day stale when checked. Its 22K table says ₹13,590 per gram (₹1,35,900 per 10 grams), while nearby prose says ₹1,35,898 per 10 grams. Those are conflicting table/narrative claims, so Candere is not treated as a verified alternative or used in any rate, history or calculation here. 7 These are source-basis conflicts, not a reason to manufacture a composite Delhi rate.

For an explanation of how this site labels market references and source limits, read the market-data method. TradeGrows’ editorial policy sets the wider approach to corrections and evidence.

The 10-day Delhi history is one source, not a blended average

A daily history is valuable only if its basis stays consistent. The history behind this page uses Groww’s Delhi “Last 10 Days” table and retains its per-10-gram readings without averaging other suppliers into the row. The 15 October 2026 row is ₹1,47,590 for 24K, ₹1,35,290 for 22K and ₹1,10,690 for 18K. The preceding 14 October values are ₹1,48,410, ₹1,36,040 and ₹1,11,310. 1

Across the ten observed rows, the displayed 24K series runs from ₹1,47,590 to ₹1,51,570 per 10 grams; the 22K series runs from ₹1,35,290 to ₹1,38,940; and the 18K series runs from ₹1,10,690 to ₹1,13,680. Those are ranges visible in this limited source window, not forecasts and not measures of a shopper’s future invoice. 1

There are repeated values in the table: 10 and 11 October match for all three purities, as do 7 and 8 October. A repeated displayed value should be reported as published. It is not evidence that every Delhi shop offered identical terms on those dates, nor does it establish that the board could not change after the page was checked.

The table is explicitly Delhi, per 10 grams and purity-specific. It is recent-reference context, not a forecast, a wedding-day shop quote or a resale settlement.

Retail references, MCX contracts and spot gold are different things

The Delhi board is a consumer-facing retail reference, not an MCX contract price, an overseas spot quote, or a promise that a particular bar or ornament can be purchased at that exact number. Those labels can move in related directions while retaining different units, timestamps and cost bases.

An MCX screen relates to a listed domestic futures contract; an international spot quotation commonly uses another currency and unit. A local jeweller’s quotation becomes an INR retail transaction with its own product work, taxes and disclosed invoice items.

TradeGrows’ MCX and domestic-rates coverage and its gold, silver and MCX session update provide market-reading context. They are not replacements for the Delhi retail reference on this page. Likewise, an IBJA-related benchmark discussion can illuminate basis differences, but a benchmark should not be pasted onto a shop invoice as if it were a retail offer. See the IBJA basis-gap explainer.

For a purchase conversation, a simple question is often the most useful: “Is this number your metal rate per gram for this purity, and what else will be added to the invoice?” That question keeps the product and the unit visible. It is more informative than an unqualified comparison with a headline from a different market.

24K, 22K and 18K: purity comes before price comparison

“Caratage” is a measure of the precious-metal content in a gold alloy. The World Gold Council describes 24 carat as pure gold and notes that 18 carat contains 75% gold and 25% other metals; it also explains fineness as parts per thousand. 6 The Groww board identifies its 24K, 22K and 18K Delhi figures as 99.9%, 91.6% and 75% purity, respectively. 1

That is why a 24 carat gold price per gram should not be used as the metal line for an item sold as 22K or 18K. The lower price of an 18K item does not by itself reveal whether the total transaction is lower or higher after design costs and any non-gold elements. Start with the purity shown on the product and invoice, then compare like with like.

22 carat and 916 gold

In BIS terminology, 22K is a permitted hallmarking grade with a fineness of 916. The number denotes fineness in parts per thousand. It is a purity designation, not a product style, seller identity or guarantee that all other invoice terms are favourable. 2

A search for the 22 carat gold rate can therefore be a useful starting point for a 916 item. It should not end the verification. Ask the store to identify whether the quoted weight is gross weight, net gold weight, or a weight that includes stones or other components. Then compare the metal calculation against that same definition.

18K and design-led jewellery

BIS lists 18K/750 among the permitted hallmarking grades. 2 An 18K gold design may be selected for reasons of colour, alloy properties or style. The relevant board reference is the 18K column, not a calculated fraction of the 24K board. This page does not derive one purity from another because a listed source has separately stated 18K values.

For a plain reading of purity differences, see 22K versus 24K gold. Use the page to understand terms; use the physical item, its marks and its invoice to verify a specific purchase.

Hallmark, fineness and HUID checks for Delhi buyers

BIS defines hallmarking as the accurate determination and official recording of precious-metal content in articles. Its general FAQ says that, since the introduction of HUID, a gold hallmark consists of the BIS logo, the purity in caratage and fineness, and a six-character alphanumeric HUID. 2

A visible “916” is meaningful because it communicates a fineness grade. It is not the full hallmark check on its own. For a 22K item, look for the complete markings that BIS describes, then use the Verify HUID feature in the BIS Care app if appropriate. BIS says the HUID is unique for each hallmarked item and is traceable through that feature. 2

The HUID check and invoice should support each other. The product details on the bill should make it possible to identify what was purchased if a concern emerges later. BIS says it is necessary to take an authentic bill or invoice and to have details of the hallmarked article in that document for a dispute, misuse or complaint process. 2

What a hallmark does and does not settle

A hallmark relates to declared purity. It does not specify a store’s design charge, exchange terms, stone valuation, delivery schedule, buyback calculation or final deal. Those commercial terms belong on the seller’s documentation. Keeping this distinction avoids treating a purity assurance as a substitute for a full price comparison.

Jewellery, coins and bars solve different practical needs

A necklace, coin and bar can all contain gold, but a board rate does not make them equivalent purchases. Jewellery can have workmanship, design and stone-setting components; a coin or bar can have different packaging, denomination, delivery and repurchase terms. Compare purity, the defined gold weight, the seller’s metal rate, all disclosed non-metal components, GST and total payable. Do not infer a resale price merely by multiplying a Delhi board rate.

A family buying a wedding ornament and a separate small bar should request two quotations. Combining them into one “per gram” comparison can conceal that one product carries jewellery work while the other has a different delivery or packaging structure. The most useful quotation is granular enough to show what is metal value and what is not.

The 24K board reading can be a reference point for a 24K bar only after the specific seller confirms its own product rate and taxes. It does not turn the board into a quote for any branded product, and this page does not endorse a shop, a seller or a product.

The final jewellery cost: GST, making charges and scope

The cited GST Council gems-and-jewellery FAQ is a dated explanatory document, not a newly enacted law. In its end-customer example of a gold, diamond or silver jewellery sale, it says GST is payable at 3% of the total transaction value of jewellery, whether making charges are shown separately or not. A separate question addresses gold issued as raw material for job work and says a registered job worker pays 5% on job charges only; that manufacturing-chain guidance should not be relabelled as a retail buyer’s universal “making-charge GST.” 5

This is why an invoice should be read as a whole. The 3% rule in the cited FAQ refers to the total transaction value in the end-customer jewellery example. The final tax calculation and the invoice description are the seller’s responsibility; if the lines are unclear, pause and ask for a written breakdown before payment.

Groww’s Delhi illustration adds 3% GST and presents “average” 12–18% making charges, 2–5% wastage and ₹35–₹200 hallmarking/certification. Those are publisher estimates, not a Delhi standard or seller promise. 1 BIS says hallmarking charges exclude making and wastage and are per article rather than weight-dependent. 2 Ask whether charges are fixed or percentage-based, how weight is defined, and what GST will be charged.

What a detailed Delhi invoice should show

A transparent invoice should show the product, purity/fineness, gross weight, net gold weight where relevant, seller’s per-gram metal rate, metal-value calculation, making or labour charge, separately stated non-gold component, GST and final amount. Keep HUID and hallmark details with the item description: BIS says invoice details are necessary for disputes, misuse or complaint redressal. 2

Net weight should identify the gold quantity used for the metal calculation after specified exclusions. It is not automatically gross weight. Ask the salesperson to write both weights and the rate basis on the estimate.

If an invoice contains a discount, ask where it has been applied. A reduction in the making charge is not identical to a reduction in the metal rate. Either may reduce the final payable amount, but they have different implications when comparing another item or reviewing an exchange policy. A clean estimate makes that distinction visible.

Use the guide to verifying market claims in India for a wider source-checking habit. It is not a substitute for retaining the shop’s own transaction documents.

Hypothetical invoice example: illustration only, not today’s price

The following is a round-number hypothetical example, deliberately separate from the 15 October Delhi board. Assume a 22K ornament has a stated net gold weight of 10 grams, a stated 22K metal rate of ₹10,000 per gram, and a stated making charge of ₹10,000. The metal value would be ₹1,00,000. Adding the stated making charge gives a transaction value of ₹1,10,000. Applying 3% GST to that assumed transaction value produces ₹3,300, for a hypothetical total of ₹1,13,300.

That example uses invented inputs solely to show the arithmetic and should not be read as a current quote, a Delhi typical cost, or a statement of any seller’s price. The official FAQ supports the 3% treatment on total transaction value in its end-customer jewellery example. 5 It does not set the invented rate, workmanship charge or item weight used here.

Now change only one input: suppose the item has stones and the seller reports a gross weight that is higher than its net gold weight. The buyer needs to know whether the ₹10,000-per-gram metal calculation uses the stated 10-gram net gold weight or another defined weight. An invoice that shows “10g” without clarifying its basis is not detailed enough for an informed comparison.

A useful estimate labels each number as “hypothetical,” “quoted” or “board reference,” so an illustration is not mistaken for a real-time price.

Wedding purchases: plan the comparison, not a presumed rate

Wedding purchases can involve several designs, several family decision-makers and more than one visit. That makes written like-for-like comparisons more valuable than a rushed decision based on a single headline rate. Start a simple list with columns for purity, product, net gold weight, metal rate, making charge, GST, total payable and date of validity.

A “budget” should be a spending limit, not a claim that a particular number of grams will be available at a future rate. If the family wants to reserve options, compare a plain design and a more detailed design using the seller’s actual written estimates. The second item may have a similar gross weight but a different labour charge or non-gold content.

Break a large list into individual pieces. A 22K bangle, an 18K stone-set ring and a 24K coin should not be grouped under one rate. The correct reference column can differ by purity and product. This small discipline makes it easier to see whether a change in total arose from the metal rate, the design, the weight or an added charge.

Do not let a public board create a false urgency. The dated board may help set questions for a store visit, but it cannot tell a family which design is suitable, what a particular shop will charge, or whether a later rate will rise or fall. This is general consumer information rather than personalized financial guidance.

Compare Delhi store quotations like for like

A robust store comparison begins by pinning down the same unit. Ask each seller to quote per gram or per 10 grams, then convert only once if necessary. Next, confirm that every line uses the same purity. A 24K screen rate against a 916 ornament estimate is not a clean comparison, even if both quotations use the word “gold.”

Then compare the quantity basis. One quote may use gross weight while another uses net gold weight. One may have stones with separately identified values. One may quote a simple design with a fixed labour amount, while another may use a percentage. Put each component on its own line and compare the final payable amount for the specific item.

The publication date matters too. A Delhi quotation issued in the morning and another valid for a later day may reference different metal rates even if the designs are identical. Write down the date, time if supplied by the seller, and quote-validity period. This page cannot provide those store-specific timestamps because the published Groww board itself does not show an intraday time. 1

A seller’s exchange or repurchase terms should be read separately from the purchase quotation. A generous-looking metal rate at purchase and a future deduction schedule are not the same part of the transaction. Ask for the terms in writing, including the treatment of making charges, stones, testing and any deductions. Do not assume that a current reference board determines those terms.

Net weight, gross weight and stones: avoid an avoidable mismatch

A piece of jewellery may contain gold plus stones, enamel, thread, clasps or other non-gold materials. That is why gross weight and net weight should not be treated as interchangeable labels. Gross weight is the overall item weight; net gold weight should be the defined weight used for the gold calculation after any specified exclusion. The seller’s documents should make the method clear.

Before approving an estimate, ask to see the item weighed and ask how each component is treated. For a stone-set piece, request the stated stone weight or value and the resulting net gold weight. For a detachable component, verify that its hallmark and description are handled appropriately. BIS says each article in a pair and detachable parts should have a hallmark with different HUIDs, and that the customer should look for hallmarking and fineness details on each. 2

This is not a request to distrust every seller. It is a way to prevent a category error: multiplying a displayed per gram price by a number whose meaning is unclear. Clear weight definitions help the buyer compare one proposal with another and help preserve records for an exchange or complaint later.

A practical pre-payment verification sequence

First, check that the estimate identifies the exact item, purity and weight basis. Second, compare the stated metal rate with a dated reference only after matching the purity and unit. Third, review all non-metal lines and the GST calculation. Fourth, inspect the hallmark where applicable and verify the HUID through BIS Care if you choose to use that facility. 2

At the counter, ask the seller to show the hallmark under magnification if it is not easily visible. BIS says a registered or certified jeweller should display its BIS registration certificate, have a minimum 10X magnifying glass to show the hallmark, and display the relationship between fineness and caratage. 2 This page does not certify an individual outlet; it simply describes the official FAQ’s stated consumer-facing checks.

Keep the detailed invoice, any certificate supplied with the item, photographs of the marks if helpful, and the written terms for return, exchange or repair. BIS’ consumer-protection information says complaints can be lodged through its portal, the BIS Care app, email or the relevant office, and asks consumers to retain the cash memo and preserve the product and packaging for an inspection where relevant. 4

The sequence is deliberately simple. Check the item, check the calculation, check the documents, then retain the evidence. No public rate page can perform these item-level steps on a buyer’s behalf.

Selling or exchanging gold later: a reference is not a settlement

A purchase invoice and a later exchange quote answer different questions. The original invoice shows what was paid for a finished product at a particular time, including non-metal elements. A later buyer may assess purity, net recoverable gold, condition, stones, testing and its own written terms before making an offer. The current Delhi board rate is therefore not an automatic resale amount.

Keep the original documentation because it can help identify purity and the item. However, do not assume that an old making charge is recoverable in an exchange transaction, or that a stone’s original retail value will be treated as gold. Ask the receiving seller for a written description of the basis used for its calculation.

BIS notes that old hallmarked and unhallmarked jewellery can be sold to jewellers after mandatory hallmarking. It also says a common person may obtain purity testing at a BIS-recognized assaying and hallmarking centre after paying the stated testing charge. 3 Those points describe available processes, not a promised outcome or valuation.

If a purity concern arises, retain the item and records. The BIS FAQ describes a complaint route and compensation provisions for a precious-metal article found not to conform to relevant standards. 3 The appropriate next step depends on the facts and documents, so this page does not estimate a claim or outcome.

Why the displayed gold price in Delhi changes

Daily gold references can change because their publishers incorporate changing global benchmarks, currency translation, domestic conditions and local retail factors. The Times of India Delhi rate page attributes its local figures to a combination of international gold benchmarks, currency exchange rates and local demand conditions. 8 That description is context, not a formula that lets a reader calculate the next Delhi rate.

The same source may also change at a different time from another publisher. On this check, Groww supplied a 15 October Delhi board, while a separately checked Times of India Delhi page was dated 14 October. 1 8 This is why date and named location should be recorded beside a rate, and why values from multiple sources should not be averaged into a made-up “Delhi price.”

For a jewellery buyer, the local board movement is only one part of the total. The seller’s rate-lock policy, the date of the written quote, purity, gold weight and non-metal charges can all alter the final payable figure. For a reader watching market information, a futures contract or overseas spot headline has a different basis from a consumer retail reference.

Use the figures on this page to verify a current reference and frame questions. Do not use a one-day change, a ten-day range or a commentary item as a price target, a trading call or a personalized purchase decision.

Frequently asked questions about gold prices in Delhi

What is the 24 carat gold price in Delhi on 15 October 2026?

Groww’s Delhi page states ₹14,759 per gram for 24K gold on 15 October 2026, with a matching ₹1,47,590 per 10 grams. The page is dated but does not publish an intraday time, so it is a daily reference rather than a live quote.

What is the 22 carat gold rate in Delhi today?

The cited Delhi board lists ₹13,529 per gram and ₹1,35,290 per 10 grams for 22K on 15 October 2026. Check that a shop’s item is actually 22K/916 and that its quoted weight basis is clear before comparing the figure.

What is the 18K gold rate on this Delhi page?

The 18K column on the same dated board is ₹11,069 per gram and ₹1,10,690 per 10 grams. It is separately stated by the source; this page does not calculate it from the 24K price.

Does this page cover Gurugram or Noida rates?

No. It is a Delhi National Capital Territory page. Gurugram and Noida may be part of the wider NCR, but they are not relabelled as Delhi here. Obtain a separately dated quote for the location where the purchase will occur.

Is 916 gold the same as 22K?

BIS lists 22K as fineness 916 among its permitted hallmarking grades. “916” describes the fineness grade. For a hallmarked item, look for the full set of marks and invoice details rather than relying on a number alone.

Does a HUID replace the invoice?

No. BIS says a HUID can be verified through the BIS Care app, while its FAQ also says an authentic invoice with article details is necessary for disputes, misuse or complaint redressal. Keep both the item information and the bill.

Are the Delhi board rates inclusive of GST and making charges?

The Groww board does not expressly label its headline per-gram price as tax-inclusive. Its cost illustration adds 3% GST and other illustrative charges after a value-before-tax line. For jewellery, the official GST FAQ says 3% applies to the total transaction value in the described end-customer sale. Ask the seller for the final written calculation.

Why can two Delhi stores show different totals for similar jewellery?

The total can differ because the purity, net gold weight, product design, workmanship, stone treatment, seller metal rate, quote date and documented terms may differ. Compare every component on a written estimate, not only the headline per-gram number.

Should I compare jewellery and a gold bar using the same per-gram figure?

Not without product details. Jewellery can include finished-product charges and non-gold components, while a bar can have its own packaging and transaction terms. Compare the final written price for each specific product after confirming purity and weight.

What is net weight on a gold invoice?

Net gold weight should identify the gold quantity used for the metal calculation after the seller’s specified exclusions. It may differ from gross weight for a piece with stones or other non-gold components. Ask the seller to put both the weight and the calculation basis in writing.

What was the Delhi 24K rate on the preceding day?

Groww’s preceding row for 14 October 2026 shows ₹1,48,410 per 10 grams for 24K, compared with ₹1,47,590 on 15 October. Its corresponding 22K and 18K values were ₹1,36,040 and ₹1,11,310.

Can I treat this history as a forecast of next week’s Delhi price?

No. The 10-day history is a record of displayed past source values. It does not establish a future rate, a shop’s future quotation, or the total cost of a particular item. Use it as recent-reference context only.

What should I keep after buying hallmarked gold jewellery?

Keep the item’s detailed invoice, purity and weight information, HUID details where applicable, and any written return or exchange terms. BIS says customers should retain authentic bills and gives complaint channels including its portal, BIS Care app and email.
