How TradeGrows Labels Market Data
Understand the status and time attached to an observation before interpreting a market number.

A market number needs a time and a status. TradeGrows shows a small market pulse on its homepage, not a live trading terminal. It displays observations for selected Indian market indices alongside a status badge and an “As of” time. The badge and time tell you what the site knows about that particular observation; neither makes the number an executable quote or a reason to trade.
What the labels mean
| Label | What you can conclude | What you cannot conclude |
|---|---|---|
| Live | The upstream feed reported no exchange-data delay for the returned observation. | That a displayed number is up to the millisecond, can be transacted at, or will remain current when you act. The page and server can cache requests briefly. |
| Delayed | The feed reports a delay, or a previously saved provider observation is being shown conservatively after the feed becomes unavailable. | That the number reflects the present trading session or that every symbol has the same delay. |
| Fallback | The current feed is unavailable and an older, dated fallback record may be displayed for context. | That the number is a fresh quote. Check its “As of” time before using it in any comparison. |
| No value / unavailable | A usable figure is not available for that observation. | That a market instrument has no value or did not trade. |
The badge describes how the site obtained or classified a particular observation. It is not an exchange certification. A “Live” label reflects the provider’s reported delay field at retrieval, not a promise of real-time end-to-end delivery. If a source does not confirm zero delay, the site classifies the provider result as delayed. A market-closed note can appear alongside any available last-session observation.
What “As of” means
The “As of” line displays the observation time in Indian Standard Time when one is available. It is not the moment you loaded the page, the moment a trade occurred, or proof that the exchange is open. A dated figure can remain visible over a weekend, a holiday, or a feed interruption. Two displayed indices may also have different observation times. Compare their timestamps before comparing their movements.
A percentage change shown beside an observation is calculated from the available value and a previous-close field if both exist. It may be missing when the previous-close field is unavailable. It is not a performance forecast. Neither the label nor the change percentage tells you why an index moved.
How the site obtains an observation
The current TradeGrows market-pulse implementation requests Indian-market chart/quote information server-side through the Manus Data API’s Yahoo Finance chart endpoint. The service normalises the response, retains the source and observation time, and can save dated observations in its own database. A short server cache limits repeated fetches; the browser may also reuse a recent response briefly. These measures reduce repeated requests but do not make the data more current.
If that request fails, the service tries its latest saved observation. A previously saved provider observation is displayed as delayed; a record already marked as a fallback remains a fallback. Without an adequate saved observation, a value may be absent. The exact age of a fallback is not guaranteed: always read the “As of” time. TradeGrows does not promise that the feed, any symbol, or the snapshot database will always be available.
Market pulse versus a dated article price
The October Indian-stocks research list separately identifies its listed share prices as 1 October 2026 NSE EQ closing prices. Those were verified for a specific past session and research cutoff. They are not updated by the homepage market pulse. Do not compare an article’s historical company price to a later homepage index observation as if they were simultaneous or directly comparable.
A close, a last-provider observation, a fallback snapshot and an exchange-executable quote answer different questions. For company figures, also identify the exchange, security or index, trading session, currency or unit, and whether a price series is adjusted for corporate actions before comparing periods. An image of a trading desk or abstract chart on TradeGrows is illustration, not a depiction of the feed.
How to check a figure responsibly
- Read the symbol, status and As-of time next to the number. If any is unclear, treat the observation as insufficient for a current-price question.
- Note whether the market is open and whether the value relates to today’s session. A market holiday can leave yesterday’s session as the last available observation.
- For a decision that depends on current price or execution, independently check a suitable current market source and the actual terms of your transaction. The TradeGrows pulse is not designed for order placement.
- For a dated article, compare its stated research cutoff and primary records with the period you are investigating. New filings and prices can change the picture after publication.

Method and source notes
This explanation describes the TradeGrows application source and a live, read-only market-pulse check on 2 October 2026 IST. The observation source field identified “Yahoo Finance via Manus Data API”; it does not establish an exchange licence or independently certify feed accuracy.
